Here are the latest updates:
I found my suit. Compare the following "typical male" story to the "typical female" story about finding Mareike's dress:
We were in Stuttgart last weekend to see a show from Blue Man Group (awesome, by the way!) We had a couple of hours before the show to walk around downtown, went into one of the big department stores, into the men's department, asked to see a nice men's suit. I tried on the first suit I was given, thought it looked pretty good, and said "I'll take it". The End. (P.S. It really was that easy) So for all the curious, I will be rocking the traditional black, although I'm still trying to decide between the vest-shirt-tie look, or the very-James-Bond tux shirt with a bowtie and suspenders. The advantage of the vest-shirt-tie is being able to take off my jacket when it gets warm, but the elegance of the tux cannot be overlooked, right?
Do you remember those math questions where you were given 1, 3, 6, 10... and asked "what comes next?" and had to answer with 15? Well, here's one of those: What comes next? Silver (Ag), Gold (Au), Platinum (Pt)... If you know your periodic table, then you've probably correctly guessed Palladium (Pd), which is what our wedding rings will be made out of. It's one of the precious metals and named after the Greek goddess of wisdom, and we're both really excited about them! The jeweler was recommended to us by a friend of Mareike's, and we weren't disappointed, so I'll go ahead and recommend them further: The place is called Lechler's and is located in the Schwarzwald City in Freiburg. We went in last week to see the selection and found "our rings" almost right away. We said we would take some time to think about it, but our decision was really already made.
Stay tuned... more news to come!
